Considered by many to be the Inland Empire’s premier city, Rancho Cucamonga is a community where families thrive. Fun for All Ages
In Rancho Cucamonga, there’s always something to do or someplace to go for residents of all ages and interests, from the city’s progressive Playschool program for children ages 1 through 5 to an active Senior Center. The city boasts 25 parks, several of which can be reserved for private parties and special events, and a wonderful Family Sports Center that is home to numerous youth and adult sports leagues. A number of community parks host “Fun on the Run” afternoons with crafts and games for children ages 5 through 12; and youth summer camps offer field trips, unique crafts, fun games, swim days and much more.The city’s Community Services Department provides trips and tours to many popular Southern California locales. There’s something for everyone, including theme parks, festivals, museums, the Hollywood Bowl and Laguna Beach’s Pageant of the Masters. Community Services also sponsors special events for the entire family throughout the year, highlighted by the annual Founders Day Parade, concerts and movies in the park, and holiday celebrations.
Fairhaven residents can get behind Rancho Cucamonga’s own Quakes minor league baseball team, which plays at the city’s world-class Epicenter stadium. Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park is a popular destination, with facilities for swimming, fishing and boating, a water slide and group picnic areas. Also close to home are the Arnold Palmer Empire Lakes Golf Course, California Speedway and several wineries.
A Strong Emphasis on Education and Community Service
Rancho Cucamonga is known for its excellent schools at all grade levels. Many local youths continue their education at nearby colleges and universities such as Chaffey Community College, the Claremont Colleges, Loma Linda University, California State University, San Bernardino and the University of California, Riverside. The city offers many opportunities for volunteering, including TRAC, the Teen Recreation Activity Club, which provides free babysitting services and donates time and materials for a variety of civic and charitable projects.
Shopping/Entertainment/Arts/Culture
Rancho Cucamonga and surrounding cities offer numerous shopping centers and community plazas convenient to Fairhaven. Ontario Mills Mall, Southern California’s largest outlet shopping mall and entertainment center, offers more than 200 of the best names in retail, a 30-theater cinema complex, the Improv Comedy Club and a variety of restaurants and take-out establishments. Montclair Plaza is also within easy reach. Victoria Gardens is a beautiful new outdoor shopping mall in Rancho Cucamonga, and is one of Southern California's most interesting and unique shopping destinations. The Victoria Gardens Cultural Center is the site of everything from intimate plays to large-scale Broadway musicals presented by the Rancho Cucamonga Community Theatre. This new arts venue provides a quality learning and performance experience for youth, teens and adults.
